Brazil: A Visual Story

It's 2016, I'm at work scrolling through Instagram when I instantly stop on a beautiful photo of a chocolate goddess on an island. "I would give anything for that to be me right now," I think to myself. I zoom in on the location which read: Bahia, Brazil. I switch over to Google and research all that I can about Bahia and of course, more images pop up. Beautiful people that look like me overtake my screen and I immediately picture myself there. I shared it all with my sister and the rest is history. We booked our trip to Bahia with Travel Noire and it was the best decision I ever made.

The itinerary, hotel and most meals were taken care of, I just had to cop a flight and fly clothes. This was my first international trip since I was 8 years old and I my childlike excitement returned instantly. Bahia is a destination I'd love to visit more than once. From the friendly and relatable locals to the amazing authentic food. Not to mention the history and culture have deep African roots. Nostalgia is hitting me hard as I write this. I learned how to surf, cook traditional dishes like Moqueca and mix caipirinhas. I didn’t feel like a tourist one bit, but at home.
